The Enhanced Eye Examination offered at Crediton Eye Centre is a comprehensive and thorough eye examination designed to detect and diagnose any potential eye problems.
This examination uses advanced equipment that provides a highly detailed view of the eye, allowing our expert optometrists to identify any abnormalities or potential issues. This examination is particularly recommended for patients over 40 years old and those with a family history of eye problems.
Our examination includes a complete assessment of the visual system, measurement of eye pressure, and a review of the patient’s medical history. Our highly trained and experienced optometrists will provide a detailed report of their findings and recommend any necessary treatment or follow-up procedures. Overall, the Enhanced Eye Examination offers unparalleled insight into the health of your eyes, ensuring earlier detection of potential issues and ensuring you receive the best possible care.

Our Standard Eye Examination
A standard eye examination at Crediton Eye Centre typically begins with a review of the patient’s medical and ocular history. Following this, various vision tests are conducted to evaluate the patient’s visual acuity, focusing ability, and depth perception. The optometrist may also perform a slit-lamp examination to examine the anterior and posterior segments of the eye.
Next, the optometrist uses a phoropter to determine the patient’s prescription for corrective lenses. They will then recommend appropriate lenses based on the patient’s visual needs and preferences. If necessary, the optometrist may also recommend additional testing or refer the patient to a specialist.
Finally, the optometrist will discuss any potential eye health concerns and provide recommendations for maintaining healthy vision. The examination typically takes about 30 minutes, and patients are encouraged to schedule annual check-ups to maintain optimal eye health.
Our standard private eye examination is £49. NHS patients are welcome; we can check your entitlement when booking your eye examination.
Contact Lens
Crediton Eye Centre offers a range of contact lenses that can cater to different eye conditions and preferences. They have daily disposable, two-week disposable, monthly disposable, and continuous wear lenses that are made of various materials such as silicone hydrogel for better comfort and breathability.
Our optometrist conducts a comprehensive eye exam and contact lens fitting to ensure that patients get the best prescription and lens type for their eyes. They also provide patient education on proper lens hygiene and insertion and removal techniques for safe and effective use.
Crediton Eye Centre offer contact lenses from trusted brands such as Acuvue, CooperVision, and Bausch + Lomb. We believe our contact lenses are competitively priced and try to make it as convenient and affordable for our patients.
Fitting and trials are normally free when booked with an eye examination.
